THANK YOU SONY!

Well, foodies and cakers, I have fabulous news: I got my camera back!!! Woohoo! Sony didn't have it very long at all and now it is back in my loving hands, ready to shoot some yummy food again. Its almost like we never parted. How sweet!
As you can see from the picture, my Sony Cybershot is just a simple digital camera. Its not an SLR (although that would be AWESOME) and it doesn't have any fancy gadgets or anything like that. It does, however, have the ability to do great things. Its like the Ugly Duckling...you know that story; no need to continue with the metaphor, right? No, all it takes is the perfect RECIPE to achieve food photo success with the Sony Cybershot:
1. No flash (too flashy)
2. Soft Snap Mode (gives you that partially focused, limited depth of field look)
3. Close-up (Macro) enabled (why not?)
4. Use only natural light (it just looks better)
Truly as easy as 1-2-3-4!
So if you have one of these little gems or are considering buying a plain old digital camera, go with this one. You will not be disappointed.
With love, Ev

Hello,
I have a Sony Cybershot (birthday gift) as well though the 7.2 and have been learning to use it. Thanks for the helpful hints to good photos.
FYI ~ I found your blog through Joy the Baker. Good luck with your blog!

Wow... thank *you*. I've been using my boyfriend's SonyCybershot to try to take decent pictures despite the lack of natural light in my basement apartment. I thought I had figured out all of the tricks -- no flash, macro, and upping the lightness of the photo directly on the camera -- but I didn't know about the soft focus setting. That's so cool! It looks like a DSLR macro lens!
